Joe Wolf is born in Kohler, Wisconsin. He led Kohler High School to three Wisconsin state titles.

Jeff Grayer is born in Flint, Michigan. In 2001, he led a push to bring a CBA franchise to Flint and served as president and coach of the Flint Fuze in their opening season.

Three-time WNBA All-Star Nikki McCray-Penson (nee McCray) is born in Collierville, Tennessee.
1976
Billy Cunningham has his jersey #32 retired by the 76ers. Over nine seasons in Philadelphia, Cunningham was a four-time All-Star and key part of the ’66-’67 title team.
1980
Suzy Batkovic is born in Newcastle, Australia. She won three Olympic medals with the Australian national team, two silvers and one bronze.
Doug Moe is named head coach of the Nuggets, replacing the fired Donnie Walsh. Moe had served as an assistant under Walsh for two seasons and in an interesting twist, Walsh eventually returned to Denver as an assistant under Moe for one season. Installing his patented, high octane “passing game” offense, Moe led the Nuggets to record breaking offensive heights in his next 10 seasons as coach.

NCAA All-American Kris Joseph is born in Montreal, Canada.
1991
The Cavaliers defeat the Heat 148-80, setting the all-time NBA record with a 68-point margin of victory which stood for 30 years.
1992
Chavano “Buddy” Hield is born in Freeport, Bahamas. His nickname came in childhood, when his mother noticed a resemblance to the television character Bud Bundy from Married… with Children.
2006
Gilbert Arenas sets the Wizards franchise record with 60 points in a 147-141 overtime win over the Lakers. It breaks the single game mark previously held by Earl Monroe for 37 years.
2008
Chris Paul sets the NBA record for most consecutive games with at least one steal, pushing his streak to 105 games with three steals in a 90-83 Hornets victory over the Spurs. The record had previously been held by Alvin Robertson since 1986. Paul’s record streak ended three games later, at 108.
2024
The Bucks defeat the Thunder 97-81 in the NBA Cup title game in Las Vegas. Giannis Antetokounmpo finishes with 26 points, 19 rebounds, and 10 assists, and is named MVP of the NBA Cup tournament.
